An open community deserves a serious standard.
Short version: we're honest about what we are, careful with younger members, clear about your privacy and your work, and firm that opportunity is never exploitation.
Who it's for
Kids Table is for curious people who want to learn, build, contribute, and earn: students, creators, developers, founders, researchers, operators, and lifelong learners.
Age policy
Built for ages 18–25. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should know you're here, and some activities may need their consent.
Moderation
We moderate actively for a respectful, high-agency space. Harassment, spam, and bad-faith behavior get you removed.
Reporting
See something off? Tell us. Reports go straight to the team at hello@kidstable.ai and we act on them.
Privacy principles
You control what is public, private, remembered, and shared. We collect what we need to run the community and nothing we don't.
Data ownership
Your identity, your work, and your record of contribution are yours. We aim to keep them portable, so you can take them with you.
Organization vetting
Organizations that post projects or opportunities are reviewed before they reach members. Real work, real terms.
Mentor standards
Mentors agree to clear expectations for how they interact with members: supportive, honest, and never exploitative.
Compensation transparency
Paid work states what it pays and what's expected up front. No vague promises, no unpaid 'exposure' dressed up as opportunity.
Confidential work
Some organization projects are confidential. When they are, we say so, and confidentiality terms are clear before you start.
AI usage & attribution
Using AI to build is encouraged, and disclosed. Be honest about what you made, what tools helped, and whose work you built on.
Open-source standards
Contributions respect project licenses and communities. Credit is given, licenses are honored, and good open-source etiquette is expected.
Anti-exploitation
This is not a source of free labor. Members' work is respected and, where it creates value for an organization, fairly recognized or paid.
